Knee deep in a memory
She wished that he’d fly.
Or wriggle away.
Or wander. Or die.
She hadn’t expected
To feel this so soon….
“Why didn’t you help me?”
She sent to the moon.
Hip deep in a memory
She drank in his eyes.
And let him weave magic.
And tremors. And lies.
How did this happen?
She thought him so wrong.
She shouldn’t have listened
She didn’t fight long.
Waist deep in a memory
She longed to be free.
To escape from this madness
That slapped only she.
Trapped by his words.
Held captive amazed.
She stood there, and gawked
For days upon days.
Shoulder deep in a memory
She fell through his hands.
And became his conglomerate
Like water in sand.
He wanted to know her.
She’d never know him.
She stood by his wall
As her brilliance grew dim.
Neck deep in a memory
Gasping for air.
She wished he would leave her
So she couldn’t care.
She sank in the memory
Till it shut out the light.
And wished she had not…
Met that memory that night.
