Yep. She's A Crafty Cat...
From a very young age, Melanie Heard was incredibly artistic. Ms. Heard started off as a classical ballet dancer, studying in New York, California, Texas, and Utah. So...How'd the jewelry thing come about?
One day, Melanie decided to buy some beads, fish hooks, and stringing wire to create some earrings and bracelets for her friends, and the jewelry making bug bit hard. Her early jewelry creations created quite a stir, and pretty soon she was taking special orders and crafting wedding jewelry, Christmas gifts, and much more!
Since 2001, Melanie has been making high-quality, handmade jewelry treasures and selling them on the internet, at home parties, in art galleries and shops, and of course at craft boutiques and bazzars.
But what about the purses?
Melanie's personal purse addiction led her to create super cool Cigar Box Purses and Big Butt Bags (recycled jean purses). Of course, the creative juices got themselves flowing again, and well....one thing led to another. Soon, Melanie was enlisting the help of her friends and family just to keep up with the demand for her one of a kind, shoulder statements. Unfortunately, the purses have faded into memory...so congrats if you already own one. Melanie is on to new pursuits!
So, that's my story in a nutshell. I make these items because they are pretty and sassy. And because if I saw them, I'd want them. I hope you'll enjoy owning one of my creations as much as I enjoy making them!
